I shared, on Facebook, (a less stylized version of) the picture you now see as the cover art, commenting on how moving I often find the beauty of the sky and saying that "there's nothing quite like catching a glimpse of the day's embers as they slip past the horizon." A friend commented with, "I hear a song"; that night, I messed around a bit and came up with a nice little idea for some music and lyrics based on those words. A while later, I decided to share a video of me playing the snippet I'd written, and was rather shocked at the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response it received. So, I went on ahead with finishing writing and recording it. Thus, the song you now hear is a blend of these different influences from other people's perspectives on my ideas. If I hadn't gone ahead and shared that picture of the sunset along with my rather personal thoughts about it, the seed of the song would never have been planted; if I hadn't gone ahead and shared the snippet I'd written, I may well never have felt encouraged enough to record and release it. Never underestimate the power of simply sharing your ideas! When you start to get other people in the mix, wonderful things can happen. <3
